EPA confirmed DEP & DCNR's concerns in a letter to the Bureau of Prisons stating that they could not follow the BOP's logic in choosing the Brush Valley site.
Recently, DEP & DCNR co-wrote a letter to the Bureau of Prisons explaining their concerns for the use of Brush Valley for the site
of the prison and encouraged the use of alternate sites. DEP also submitted a report refuting the BOP's claims that Natalie East is undermined and documented 195 acres that they believe to be not undermined.
PA Fish & Boat Commission finds DEIS insufficient.
Department of Interior rejects BOP's selection of Brush Valley as a placement for the proposed prison.
